The legend
Prague, 1580.
The Jewish Quarter was in danger. One night, Rabbi Löw walked down to the Vltava and shaped a figure from river clay. Broad shoulders. A guardian.
Then he wrote one word, three Hebrew letters. The Golem came to life and guarded the Jewish Quarter for years.
When his work was done, the rabbi erased the first letter. Truth became death, and the Golem went back to clay.
He never left Prague.
The legend says he rests in the attic of the Old New Synagogue, the oldest active synagogue in Europe. The attic is closed to visitors. Some say that is exactly the point.
We can't bring you the Golem. So we designed a small one.
